Rockies Game…3 Strikes and You’re Out
Severance Middle School seventh graders have an upcoming field trip to Coors Field for a Colorado Rockies baseball game. We will be attending the game on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. It is our intent and desire to take all students on this field trip; however, we also need to ensure that students are academically eligible and able to consistently demonstrate responsible and respectful behavior because we are representing Severance Middle School and our community at Coors Field. Therefore, seventh grade students will be held accountable for their behavior using a “3 Strikes and You’re Out” system beginning Tuesday, April 2nd. If a student receives three strikes between April 2nd and the day of the baseball game, he or she will not be attending the baseball game and will stay at school.
Students will earn one strike for each of the following:
- Being asked to leave the classroom and sit in the hallway due to disruption or poor choices in behavior in all classes (Including exploratory classes)
- Being referred to the office for behavior
- Being asked to stand on the wall at recess
- Being reported by a substitute teacher for inappropriate behavior
- **In-school suspension is worth 2 strikes**
Students will automatically “Strike Out”
(receive three strikes at once) for the following:
- Earning an out of school suspension
- Being academically ineligible…Students with two or more F’s will not be able to attend the Rockies game. Grades will be pulled on Tuesday, May 21st.
